If hunting black bear in Ontario, combined with an excellent Canadian fishing trip is what you are looking for the Hillsport Hillton offers one of the best packages and success rates in the area.
Our Bear Management Area (BMA) is one of the finest in the region and is 500 square km. We start bear baiting on June 1st and continue to bait throughout the bear hunting season.
The black bear hunting season runs from August 15 to October 31 for all rifle, shotgun, archery and muzzle-loader hunters. The Ontario non-resident bear hunting licence is $180 CDN. Please read the Ontario Bear Hunting Regulations for more information.
Tree stands are available upon request, but it is recommended to bring your own since you are familiar with it. In some cases, a ground blind is more practical. An ATV is an asset if you have one, but not necessary, as most of our baiting stations are easily accessible by vehicle.
Package Prices
The Hillsport Hillton non-resident bear hunting package includes accommodation in a modern and fully equipped cabin (up to 8 people per cabin) and a baited bear hunt in prime black bear territory.
1 Week Hunt:
$1700.00 US per person + tax
Upgrade to American Plan - $2100 US per person + tax

Boat rentals are also available if you would like to spend a day on the lake fishing Walleye and Northern Pike ($50 per day).
Hunters Are Responsible For:
- Ontario Bear Hunting Licence and Export Permits
- Ontario Small Game Hunting Licence (if desired)
- Ontario Fishing Licence (if desired)
- Hunting and Fishing Equipment
- Hunter Orange coat/vest and hat
- Groceries & Beverages (non-American Plan)
- Bedding & Towels
- Personal care items (shampoo, soap, etc)
- Coast Guard approved life vest (if boating)
Deposits:
$300 US per person to guarantee reservation. Deposits are non-refundable (personal cheques or bank money orders, no US postal money orders). Balance due upon arrival (cheques or cash).
GST Tax Rebate: The Goods & Service Tax (GST) on accommodations is refundable to all non-Canadian visitors. If your deposit is received 60 days prior to your arrival, the Canadian Government allows us to return this accommodation tax (rebate) to you, which is already reflected in price schedule (reverse side). When your deposit is received less than 60 days prior to arrival, the Canadian Government will return it to you. The GST rebate forms are available here or at the Canadian border. Please note: the refundable accommodations portion of the GST tax will be added to your bill if deposit requirements are not met.
